Truly a haven for gay travelers any time of the year, San Francisco is simply both stunning and cozy for your twosome to get cozy! The city’s fierce freedom of expression is no news; so be sure of an amiable welcome to your pair when you arrive here.

You will find numerous activities here specifically aimed at you. The city’s gay bars and gay clubs are generally gay friendly and some are just for the gay and lesbian couples! The city hosts a number of parades, including Gay Pride, during the year that endorse the cause of individuality and promote acceptance of nature’s endowment called homosexuals, we commonly know as gays or lesbians.

There are theatres and art galleries to provide your pair a soothing time pass, as you scroll through the artistic renderings of local artistes and enjoy serious display of talent, both on stage and across niches. The famous beaches of the city sport special arrangements for your couple. The restaurants are good with lovely ambiance and tasty food. And how can we forget the famous Golden Gate, Twin Peak and Alcatraz Prison! Did you know that a recent ruling, in May to be precise, has allowed same sex marriages in San Francisco? No surprises, more and more gay travel is taking place to this part of the world for solemnizing marriages than just travelling.

Gay bars in the big city ‘Paris of the prairies’

In Saskatoon, the gay bar is called Diva’s. But you won’t find its name on a sign above the door and the entrance isn’t on a main street. Diva’s is located in an alley, which is where I found myself on a warm summer night in mid-August, making out with a kid who got kicked out of the bar for being underage.

What separates gay bars on the prairies from gay bars in the big city is that everyone is in it together. In Saskatoon, there’s only one queer space to dance, so the whole community comes out as one. And that’s how I found myself grinding with a cute, smiling Aboriginal guy. But before I could even get his name, he was gone, kicked out of the bar for being 18.

Luckily, he didn’t run too far. That’s when the alley came in handy, and the next chapter of my evening began. Whenever anyone asks what I liked best about Saskatoon, I tell them my first impression of the city was confirmed throughout my stay. It’s definitely the kind of place where strangers know how to be friendly to each other.

More than 4,000 people were dancing in the streets of Belfast yesterday with protesters and bad weather failing to dampen the enthusiasm of Gay Pride revellers. A small crowd of demonstrators sang gospel songs as the colourful parade snaked its way through the city centre.

DUP MP Iris Robinson is on holiday, but her recent controversial remarks about gays were the focus of much attention at the parade.

One cheeky float (inset) manned by a troupe of drag queens was nicknamed ‘Iris, Wicked Witch Of The North’, complete with a colourful caricature of her head!

One woman carried a poster, with the message ‘Jesus Loves Everyone’, in response to Mrs Robinson describing homosexuality as “an abomination”.

Parade participants were led by drag queen Titti Von Tramp (right) and a posse of feather boa-wearing, bare chested men. The parade concluded with a Belfast Pride party at Custom House Square.
